How to get rid of water marks on sofas (synthetic fabric – microfiber)?

The below video speaks about generally how clean a sofa bed. I think that it is quite useful – enjoy!

Well another problem/issue with the above sofa is water marks. The sofa is made from a beautiful lime green (which is quite a light color). We somehow managed to get few small but annoying water marks on the sofa which is quite irritating as the sofa is quite new.

What worked?

Dry cleaning - Well we heard that using a washing machine or even hand washing can really shrink the fabric which is cotton like synthetic fabric. As In our sofa there are plenty of zippers it is possible to strip the fabric completely. So upon a friend advice we took it to the local dry cleaner and Wow – it came out super clean.

Another solution that worked well was to damp a cloth with a bit of alcohol –and then rub it gently. Make sure to 1st try it on a bit of the sofa that is not usually visible to the eye. So don’t forget 1st test than apply! This is not as good as dry cleaning but it works really well.

How to stop the sofa cushions from slipping forward?

Well we bought recently a very nice green sofa from synthetic fabric (microfiber) and the cushions keeps sleeping forward. I did not know if it because over stuffing or under stuffing but we tried everything and every time you sit on the sofa for an hour or so – you must get up and push the cushions back in – how annoying.

What worked?

Well the 1st idea that I came across was to fold an old sheet and place it at the front of the sofa cushions. Well quite surprisingly just having the sofa cushions tilted back a bit so that area that is facing front is just a bit higher – nearly solved the problem. And the best solution that was given by a friend of my wife was to get a non slip mesh from ikea or walmart –  it’s that stuff which stops rugs from slipping around the floors.
